WE BELIEVE

_

REGARDING GOD

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 1:1-14; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4).

REGARDING JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; crucified by the people and resurrected bodily by God, the Father, on the third day (Matthew 1:18-25; Galatians 4:4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

REGARDING HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Third Person of the Trinity has been sent by the Father and the Son to be our paraclete (helper), who teaches us all we need to be Jesus’ disciples (John 14:26, 16:13-14).

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers in order to regenerate, illumine and sanctify them (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; John 14:15-17).

REGARDING DIVINE REVELATION

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God, is the full and primary revelation of God (John 12:14, 14:9; Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1:3).

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God and without error in the original manuscripts.

We accept the Scriptures as the correct rule for life and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalms 19:7).

REGARDING SALVATION

We believe in the universal sinfulness of humanity, bringing everyone under God’s wrath and judgement.

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23; Galatians 3:22; Ephesians 2:8-9).

We believe in the substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole ground of redemption from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin (1 Peter 1:17-21; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

REGARDING THE CHURCH

We believe that the Fellowship is a local church and part of the Body of Jesus Christ in the world today, a visible part of the holy catholic Church, as affirmed in the Apostles’ Creed, the Church made up of all believers in Christ from every part of the globe, throughout the history of the Church.

We believe in the unity and common priesthood of all believers, who have been called by God to the work and service of His Kingdom.

We believe that believers’ baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances to be practiced in the local church (1 Peter 2:9; Matthew 26:26-29; 28:19-20).

REGARDING MARRIAGE

We believe marriage is the first institution created and instituted by God.

We believe marriage is foundational to a healthy society.

We believe marriage is a covenant relationship between one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others.

REGARDING THE FUTURE

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to receive His church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 14:1-4).
